This resin is based on low monol 12000 MW polyether with difunctional methoxy groups. It needs to be catalysed with the special diketonate tin catalysts like metatin 740. It has less cross linking, and can be highly plasticized for sealants and sealant adhesives in the 35 to 50 shore A hardness range.
Advantages are no residual surface tack and easier compounding in open change cans. The resin is very suitable for the range of industrial sealants used for body building and windscreen bonding.
Excellent adhesion to metal and glass can be achieved with the range of epoxy and secondary amino silane adhesion promoters offered. Faster cure and better adhesion than sealants can be achieved.
This resin is less sensitive to moisture in Compounding, but additional vinyl silane and methanol need to be added in Compounding.

The use of STPP or Hybrid silane crosslinked resin allows the use of precipitated calcium carbonates for good rheology and the ability to use secondary amino silanes as adhesion promoters makes the formulation of these new hybrid sealants much easier.
